I think that I have found the best of both worlds C.A offers speed and Cadsoft offers power. Windows Vista is not recommended for Versions 12 and earlier which were developed before its release and are not fully compatible. So I don't know how one says only lines transfer. I actually purchased softplan 11 off of Ebay for 1100.00. You can transfer more info than just lines. Softplan Randy C and everyone that posted Thanks for all the good info, I had a hard time deciding between the 2 programs, I sent for demos from both companies and got softplans in 2 days and recieved Chiefs 2 WEEKS after I purchased softplan. I have found that I can draw relatively accuratly in this program and it will dynamically build all plans(floor, elevation, etc.) I have also found that I can then build dxf files and transfer to Autocad. I also have purchased Chief Architect 6 and love it. All is not quite lost yet though weвЂ™ve got some things to try that may work for you.

I am really interested in hearing from anyone else who has intmate knowledge of these 2 programs. In fact, any version except the current version of Football Manager (2016) is unsupported on Windows 10 so itвЂ™s the same story for FM2014 and FM2015 too (well, I guess you were looking for an excuse to upgrade, right). Cadsoft is a very powerful program with the ability to build just about anything but is is still slow and cumbersome in its dynamic ability. At the risk of incurring the wrath of the moderator.I have just finished the softplan tutorial after struggling with Cadsoft Build's book a couple of years ago.

I also spent about 10 hours experimenting with Softplan before the purchase. I had used prior to this program a program called Cadplus. It also required extensive building knowledge. I found Cadsoft difficult to learn because of the various quirks, in not following standard Autocad commands.
